Our philosophy in forming teams is as follows: Our mission is to develop soccer players to their fullest potential. We believe we accomplish that mission, in part, by forming the most competitive teams we can at each age and skill level.
Can my child play up an age group?
Yes, however we encourage all players to tryout for their correct age group. Any player playing up will be at the discretion of their respective director.
What should I wear/bring to tryouts?
Please come prepared with a fully inflated soccer ball, proper footwear, shin guards, and water. Each prospective soccer-athlete will receive a free Kings Hammer Soccer Club tryout t-shirt with a tryout identification number on the back of the t-shirt. Each prospective player will be identified by the identification number throughout the process and MUST wear this t-shirt at each tryout session for the 2018/2019 soccer year.
We will not be able to attend tryouts or are new to the area and missed tryouts. Is there a process in place to allow for an alternate tryout?
Yes! If you are not able to attend tryouts or missed the tryout dates, please contact the Director for the Program/Age Group you wish to tryout for so that arrangements can be made. We also hold supplemental tryouts throughout the year.
What is the order of tryouts?
What is the Club Structure?
What are the differences between KHA and KHC/KHE?
The KHA primary goal is to create a highly competitive environment to which high level soccer athletes can receive the best local training to develop and then to showcase their talents. We strive to ensure maximum exposure for our players to college coaches. We want all of our players to receive the opportunity to play at a collegiate, professional and national level.
The KHC/KHE Programs are designed for our competitive soccer-athletes that are committed to the sport of soccer. The primary goal of the Kings Hammer Central/East Programs is PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. We do this by providing a challenging, pressurized training environment that creates a well-rounded, highly skilled soccer-athlete.
Where will my child practice?
Should I plan on trying out for multiple programs?
We encourage anyone who wants to tryout for all levels to do so. Current KHSC players can ask their coach/DoC for guidance if you are unsure about which program to tryout for.
If I tryout for a program and don’t make it, can I tryout for another program?
Yes. If you don’t make an Academy team, we strongly encourage you to tryout for a Central or East team. If you don’t make the Central/East and are interested in the other location, our staff can help facilitate this. Please contact the DoC for the Program/Age Group for which you tried out to begin this process. If you don’t make a Central or East team, the KH Select program may have a team in your age group looking for players.
Will there be more than one team in each age group?
Yes, when possible, there will be more than one team per age group, per program. It all depends on the number of players at tryouts and their skill level.
If my child doesn’t make the top team, can they move up during the year?
Yes, there may be opportunities to move up throughout the year as long as the coach/director feels it is in the best interest of the player’s development. There may also be opportunities to guest play across all levels.
How long is the season?
Fall Season: August-October (U7-U14)
Winter I Season: November-December (U15-U18)
Winter II Season: February-March (U7-U18)

My child is in middle school but plays on a U15 team. Will there be a fall U15 program for trapped players?
Yes, we will offer a program for trapped 8th graders for the fall season. Please contact your age group/program director for more details.
Can a team come to the club and join as a team?
Yes! The team’s coach will need to contact the director for the program/age group they want to join.
The team can only join Central, East or the Independent Select program. Coaches may stay with their team depending on what level they wish to join in the club and pending approval from the program director based on coaching education standards.
Who is in charge of hiring coaches/trainers within the Academy, Central and East programs?
If you are interested in a coaching opportunity, please contact the Director for the Age Group/Program that you wish to join.
